Week # 4

I leave for portland on the amtrak tonight. 17hrs. and 53 minutes. geez.
I've really enjoyed my stay back in the bay. My friends chris and lee have been taking really good care of me. They cook every night and it's always something extravagantly delicious. Lee was laid off from his job the day after I got here which worked out well for me because I had someone to kick it with during the day. We went up to a ranch in petaluma where his mother stays. It was so beautiful. A huge ranch with dogs, cats, roosters, peacocks!, horses and cattle A veritable manaurie. I hung out and took pictures while lee got a horse back riding lesson. Good stuff.
We went to California Academy of Science the other day. We were in there for about a half an hour when the fire alarm went off and we were evacuated and made to stand across the street. When the coast was clear we all calmly rushed the front door just to have the alarm go off again. So we just left for a while and got noodles and then came back afterward. There were some really incredible animals there. Upside down catfish. Giant salamanders. Glow in the dark eyed fish.
Today we went to the redwood forest. It was beautiful, I had a hard time fully appreciating it due to a nasty hang over. We hiked for while. The most exercise I've gotten in a while.
All in all a really good stay in the bay. I'll miss it.

week # 3

i've spent the past week out in oakland. its made me really miss the bay area. its absolutely gorgeous here. beautiful weather. without the stresses of a job or even the slightest bit of responsibility i'm throughly enjoying myself. im being put up by my dear friends chris & lee. they have an awesome little house in north oakland with lots of windows and a back porch. very comfortable and welcoming. i've had some wonderful home cooked meals the past week. i've been doing a lot of reading and sitting around. the life. needless to say the difference between L.A. and the Bay Area are immeasurable. this area is much more conducive for my current lifestyle. i'll probably stick around here for a bit longer before heading up to the PNW (pacific northwest). no rush at the moment.

Week # 2

My last week in LA. Pretty decent. Kicked it with my girl heather most of the time. She toted me around town in her white lunch box scion. We did a lot of eating and drinking. We went to he le brea tar pits, made fun of them and left. We went up to the observerory. Had a close encounter with a coyot, looked up at the Hollywood sign and left. Later that night we grabbed some Russian edibles from a Russian bakery with heavily make uped old rusky woman who seemed to be shocked if not down right offended when we declined some kind of russain bread. The treat that j got was and all meat clazone. It was cheap and delicious and really really greasy. After that we for no ckncieovale good reason we stopped into fat burger for a lemonade and from feelin such a high from the russian meat thing, I got a fat burger. Long story short I literally shit by pants the next day. Coming back from gettin fish tacos I tried to fart and you know the rest. Cest la vie. I had no to blame but myself.
I'm not sure how intimAte of a view I got of this city. It's so god damn sparse that it's tough to know what is worth seeing and what's not. I can say one thing, without a car, forget it. I could see living in a cool neighborhood and keepin it local but if you want to be seen at all the hottest clubs and venues get a driver or head to your local kia dealership for rock bottom savings.
I'm at the airport now. I'm heading to Oakland by way of san fran tonight. Kick it with some folks. And just take it easy or all you hard workers out there.
